Becky Nagan and Sean Stewart, both of Duluth, plan to be married Jan. 5 at Riu Ocho Rios Hotel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Her parents are Mike and Peggy Nagan of Duluth. His parents are David and Janet Stewart of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The future bride, a 2003 graduate of Denfeld High School, is pursuing a doctorate in pharmacy at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in Duluth.
The future groom, a 1999 graduate of Mayo High School in Rochester, Minn., is pursuing a doctorate in pharmacy at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in Duluth.

On Nov. 21, Sean took me to dinner at Old Chicago and then we bundled up for one last walk on the Lakewalk before winter. He told me he had an alternate route in mind and led me across the Aerial Lift Bridge and down to the beach.
We walked along the beach sharing memories of our first date and the rest of the time we had spent together. Near the spot where we shared our first kiss, Sean stopped and asked the question. After asking Sean if he was serious, I kissed him and said yes.
