Making sure everything was special

The night Zach proposed we started off by going on a bird-watching hike.

Having grown up near Hawks Ridge, this is one of my favorite activities.

Then we went out for a nice Italian dinner. At this point I guessed something was up because Zach insisted that we take pictures of everything and that we order the nicest wine (not something that usually happens because we were both graduate students).

After dinner, we took a walk around Lake Calhoun. Zach found the exact place where he had first told me he loved me more than two years earlier. He got down on one knee and popped the question. Of course I said yes. After some quick calls to our parents we went out for dessert to celebrate.
