A: I would listen to and respect different points of view. This is why I am supported by business leaders, unions and environmental groups. They know we won't always agree, but that I will always listen and do what I think is right for the community.

Q: How should the remainder of Bayfront Festival Park be developed?

A: I think Bayfront Park has been a huge asset to the community. I think the remainder of the space should be developed in a manner which complements what's already at Bayfront Park. I favor more open space and park use of the space rather than commercial development.

Charlie Bell

Q: What will you do as mayor to unite Duluth?

A: I don't think we're so un-united. We have a diverse amount of opinions and I think that's healthy for a community. People in Duluth are really passionate and are really willing to step forward. That's a great thing. But what we're missing is good, strong leadership that brings a community together.

Q: How should the remainder of Bayfront Festival Park be developed?

A: There's been a plan established. I think we should be able to sit down and carry through with that comprehensive plan. But we need to get the city's overall finances in order first and then proceed. We've got to stop spending money right now.
