Steel exports into the United States in May were 3.2 million net tons, a monthly record for 2007.
The total was up 13 percent from 2.7 million net tons exported in April.
Included in the May total were 2.7 million net tons of finished steel.
Canada led all steel exporters to the United States with 540,000 net tons in May. China exported 524,000 net tons, up from 283,000 net tons in April.
