A broken sprinkler pipe shut down Marcus Duluth Cinema Tuesday evening. A frozen sprinkler pipe burst in the ceiling of the entrance of the Harbor Drive theater.

Due to the large amount of water that had come from the broken pipe, water was also found in the lobby of the building, according to a news release from the Duluth Fire Department. Crews shut off water to the sprinkler system before all crews dispatched to the scene began removing water from the impacted areas.

The theater stated on its social media pages that it did not "have an exact time frame," for reopening but "hoped to be up and running within a couple hours." Visitors were encouraged to visit the Lakes 10 theater in Hermantown or see about refunds for advance ticket purchases in their confirmation emails. The theater will be closed until the sprinkler can be repaired.

No injuries were reported from the incident and the damage is estimated to be $5,000.
