Man with gun robs Mountain Iron store

St. Louis County sheriff's deputies on Sunday were attempting to locate an unidentified white male who robbed the Mountain Iron Short Stop Saturday evening and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

St. Louis County sheriff's deputies on Sunday were attempting to locate an unidentified white male who robbed the Mountain Iron Short Stop Saturday evening and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the male entered the Mountain Iron Short Stop at about 9:41 p.m. Saturday, showed a handgun and demanded that the clerk turn over money from the cash register. He took the clerk outdoors and before fleeing with the cash on foot and threatened to shoot the clerk. A search of the immediate area turned up nothing. The clerk was not injured.

The man was about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 wearing white tennis shoes with a black jacket, stocking cap and bandana to cover his face. A security camera captured his image while he was in the building.
