A 24-year-old Brookston man lost consciousness and sideswiped a guardrail on U.S. Highway 2 Thursday night.

Alex Bober was taken to St. Luke's hospital in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries, the Minnesota State Patrol said in a news release. He was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo and was traveling eastbound near milepost 246 in St. Louis County.

Alcohol is not a factor the State Patrol noted.

The crash occurred at 8:09 p.m. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene. The vehicle was severely damaged, the State Patrol said.
