A man was stuck in an automated Superior car wash for about 20 minutes Tuesday night.

Superior Fire Department battalion chief Richard Rugg said the man paid $8 to the automated cashier, then entered the car wash at 3202 Tower Ave. about 9 p.m.

When the car wash had finished its cycle, the exit door wouldn't open and the man was stuck inside the stall.

It wasn't until 20 minutes later -- when another customer came to the car wash and paid to enter -- that the entrance door to the car wash stall opened. The man was then able to back his vehicle out of the stall.
