The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is seeking a suspect in connection with a sexual assault that was reported in Cherry Township on Saturday.
An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for John Everette Pierce, 44, of Cambridge, Minn. The warrant charges Pierce with 13 felonies in connection with the incident, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, violation of a restraining order while possessing a dangerous weapon, domestic assault, terroristic threats and burglary.
Pierce is 6 feet, 2 inches, tall, weighs 230 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Hibbing and Cambridge areas and was last known to be driving a blue 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck with Minnesota license plate 410-EDT, according to the sheriff's office. Anyone with information on Pierce's whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the St. Louis County Sheriff's dispatch center at (218) 749-6010.
A search of Minnesota Court records found 34 criminal and traffic cases against Pierce.
