A 73-year-old man was shot to death in rural Barnes, Wis., Friday afternoon.
The Bayfield County Sheriff's Department responded to two 911 calls from Felix Mecikalski's cabin at 4150 Felix Road shortly after 5 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found Mecikalski dead in his driveway.
Bayfield County Sheriff Bob Follis said Mecikalski was shot more than once in the torso with a handgun.
A 51-year-old man -- who lived with Mecikalski, his wife and two grown sons -- was arrested Friday and was being held in the Bayfield County Jail on Saturday, pending further investigation.
"We're still trying to put that together, but I'm guessing [the suspect] came home drunk. Apparently, there were words," Follis said.

Follis said he wasn't sure why the suspect was living with Mecikalski's family.
"I'm thinking [the suspect] is somewhat of a loner and Mecikalski befriended him," he said.
