A Superior man was sentenced on Wednesday to more than eight years in prison in U.S. District Court for various firearms-related crimes.

Duluth police arrested William Carl Moline, 24, on May 30 during a traffic stop on 56th Avenue West and Raleigh Street. While searching the vehicle, officers found a short-barreled shotgun and methamphetamine and found Moline was wearing a Superior police badge on a chain around his neck.

Moline, a convicted felon, was prohibited from possessing any firearm.

At the time of his arrest, Moline was on bail in Superior on pending methamphetamine possession charges and was on probation for a prior methamphetamine-related conviction in Duluth.
