The 21-year-old suspect in a stabbing incident at the Steve O'Neil Apartments earlier this year has pleaded guilty to an amended charge.
Tyler Joseph Bizal entered a guilty plea to a third-degree assault charge late last month in State District Court, according to online court records.
Bizal was taken into custody on April 16 after Deland Johnson, 45, was stabbed in a room at the Central Hillside apartment complex. Both men were visitors to Bizal's mother's apartment, according to court documents.
Johnson was found in the lobby of the recently opened facility, 115 W. Fourth St., and was rushed to a hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition. He survived his injuries.
Police reported that Bizal confessed to the crime, telling officers that he had gotten into an "altercation" with Johnson and stabbed him multiple times with a knife. He was initially charged with second-degree assault - a count which was reduced in a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Judge Dale Harris ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled Bizal's sentencing for June 23.
