A Proctor man was sentenced to four years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to first-degree aggravated robbery with a sawed-off shotgun at the Pure Pleasure adult store in Hermantown.
Patrick James Robertson, 50, pleaded guilty in November to committing the crime on Oct. 7, 2006.
According to the criminal complaint, a man carrying a sawed-off shotgun and wearing a hood on his head and a bandana over his face entered the store. He adjusted a round of ammunition in his shotgun, ordered employees to lie face-down on the floor and took money from the till.
About a year later, on Oct. 1, 2007, a Hermantown police officer on patrol spotted Robertson driving away from the Pure Pleasure store.
A store employee had previously reported a suspicious man who might have been casing the business. The officer noticed a sawed-off shotgun in Robertson's vehicle.

After reviewing security tapes and interviewing witnesses from the earlier robbery, Robertson was charged with a 2006 robbery at Pure Pleasure. Robertson owned clothes that matched those seen on the surveillance tapes during the robbery.
Judge Sally Tarnowski sentenced Robertson to 48 months in prison, a $1,000 fine and ordered him to pay $3,641.43 restitution.
