Man dies in Koochiching County crash

A 58-year-old International Falls man died Friday in a single-vehicle crash near Ray.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Lonnie Ray Schmidt was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram on State Highway 217 at about 6:30 a.m. when it ran off the road and overturned in the ditch near County Road 110.
Schmidt was not wearing a seat belt, the Patrol said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
