Man arrested, woman injured in 2-vehicle crash into Duluth business
A 27-year old man was arrested and a 58-year-old woman was transported to a hospital shortly after two-vehicle crash on the 1500 block of East Superior Street shortly after noon on Wednesday.
According to a report from Duluth Police, a silver Chevrolet Malibu driven by the 27-year-old was traveling northbound on 15th Avenue East and ran the stop sign at East Superior Street. The Malibu struck a blue 2015 Chevrolet Equinox driven by the 58-year-old woman, which had been traveling westbound through the intersection. The collision pushed both vehicles into the west side of the Designer Dogs building at 1431 E. Fourth St.
The 27-year-old initially fled the scene, but later returned and police said he was uncooperative as officers attempted to arrest him. He suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the St. Louis County Jail to face possible gross misdemeanor charges of fleeing an accident scene resulting in injury.
The woman was transported to the hospital and police did not immediately know her medical condition.
