A 29-year-old man was arrested in Virginia early Tuesday, accused of leading police on a chase and then crashing his vehicle into a residence on the 600 block of 11th Street South.

The Virginia Police Department received information about a man with an active felony warrant who was driving a white vehicle with pink pinstripes and possibly armed, said a police department news release.

Police and the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle overnight on the 1100 block of Second Avenue South. When the man fled in the vehicle, officers gave pursuit, leading to the crash that disabled the car, the news release said.

The man allegedly fled on foot before being apprehended. He was processed into the St. Louis County Jail just after 4 a.m. and was held pending several charges, including fleeing police in a motor vehicle, assault with a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, driving while intoxicated, driving after suspension, no proof of insurance, expired motor vehicle registration, hit-and-run damage to property and fleeing on foot.

Charges will be filed in District Court in Virginia later this week.
