A Duluth man was apprehended by police Monday evening after a domestic disturbance call in Lakeside.
Police were called to the scene and began looking for the man, and some neighbors in the area of Superior Street and 42nd Avenue East were shooed back into their houses as a precaution just after 6 p.m. after the man apparently threatened a dog.
The man had already left the area on a DTA bus, however, and was apprehended without incident a few minutes later.
"The original call was for a domestic and that he may have left the house with a gun in a sheet, which is why (several officers) were looking for him," said Officer Brad Wick, Duluth Police spokesman. "But it turned out not to be as serious; it was a misdemeanor domestic charge and they have him now."
