Kensal, N.D. -- A Kensal man is facing charges after he allegedly castrated a woman's dog without her permission.

Fifty-five-year-old Kevin Gienger could face charges of stolen property and mistreating animals. He's accused of taking the woman's purebred poodle and castrating it over the weekend.

The Stutsman County Sheriff says scalpels and syringes were found at Gienger's home along with the dog. Gienger was taken to the county jail. The animal was taken to a veterinarian.
