Lofald to serve as Duluth School Board chair

Jill Lofald will serve as the chairperson of the Duluth School Board for another year.

"It's really an honor to be a part of this board and to lead it for another year," she said.

Lofald was nominated by board member Rosie Loeffler-Kemp and was the only nomination for the position of board chair Monday evening during the annual organizational meeting.

“I’ve greatly appreciated all of the time and commitment member Lofald has shown as board chair over the past year,” Loeffler-Kemp said.

The School Board appointed Kelly Durick Eder as vice chair for the second consecutive year, Alanna Oswald as clerk for the second year in a row and Sally Trnka as treasurer for the third year in a row.

Also at the meeting Monday, Durick Eder was ceremonially sworn in as a School Board member for one year after winning a special election in November.
