TWIN LAKES TOWNSHIP, Minn. — An SUV crash on the 1400 block of County Road 4 on Saturday evening injured three of five adult occupants.
According to a Carlton County Sheriff's Office news release, an SUV was traveling east at around 10:15 p.m. when it left the road and struck a driveway approach, causing it to roll over. The vehicle, driven by a man, had five occupants. All of them were believed to be wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
The driver declined medical treatment at the scene. Three passengers were transported to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the crash. A fourth passenger was transported by a private vehicle. The extent of their injuries was not reported by the Sheriff's Office.
The driver was taken in to custody and is awaiting formal charges. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
