COOK — A 59-year-old Cook man was killed in a single vehicle crash approximately 8 miles south of Cook on U.S. Highway 53 on Sunday evening, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol.

Glen Ellsworth Economy was pronounced dead at the scene. He was traveling north in his Chevrolet Corvette on Highway 53 at Heino Road around 6:30 p.m. When passing another vehicle, the Corvette lost control, left the roadway and rolled. He was reported to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
