On Jan. 7, local broadcasters will work together to produce DTV Experts on Call, an effort to ensure the public is prepared for the Feb. 17 conversion to digital television.
From 5 to 10:30 p.m., a panel of experts from local stations will be taking calls to answer viewers' questions at (888) 563-9373 or 724-3003. WDSE will broadcast live from 7 to 10 p.m., during which experts from all five stations will demonstrate how to use converter boxes and antennas to receive digital signal. The commercial stations will promote the event on their 5, 6, 9 and 10 evening newscasts.
"This is a collaborative effort among all the local television broadcasters," said Al Harmon, station manager at WDSE. "We're each contributing those things we do best to make sure everyone in the market is aware and ready when the analog is shut off in February."
Participating broadcasters include WDSE, FOX 21, Northland's NewsCenter and WDIO.
