Lindquist, Sorenson win Nemadji cross-country invite

High school cross-country runners competed under the ominous clouds of approaching storms Thursday evening during the Nemadji Invitational at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior.

"The kid was catching me, but I held him off," said Lindquist, who added that the wind was treacherous during the race.

Cloquet senior Becca Sorenson won the girls varsity race in 15:35.9. Esko senior Bryan Lindquist edged Ashland junior Brian Little by less than a second Thursday to win the 12-team Nemadji Invitational in Superior.
