Two planning meetings are scheduled early next week, both involving parks in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The public is invited to help design new amenities for Lincoln Park (the park itself) in advance of construction of a new playground and other park features in the fall.
The meeting, designed to be family-friendly, will take place from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the cafeteria of the Lincoln Park Commons, 2424 W. Fifth St. It will begin with a free meal.
Parking is available in the West Fifth Street parking lot between the commercial tenant signs or on Fourth and Fifth streets and 25th Avenue West. If you enter the doors on West Fifth Street, take a right down the hallway and then take the elevator down to the first floor to enter the cafeteria. If you are entering the doors on 25th Avenue West, it will lead directly to the cafeteria.
Improvements to Harrison Park will be the topic of a meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Community Center, 3002 W. Third St.
Residents will be able to provide feedback on the final design elements of the project, which is part of the St. Louis River Corridor Initiative.
Proposed improvements include tennis court removal, tree-planting and other amenities. It’s part of the Harrison Park mini-master plan, which the City Council approved.
