Cloquet police held a community education and notification meeting about Couture in August when he was released from prison.

Cloquet police today announced that a Level 3 predatory offender has moved from Scanlon to the 300 block of Second Street in Cloquet.

Joseph John Couture, 40, was convicted of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl by using force and threatening her with a weapon. He has served his sentence.

Level 3 sex offenders are considered the most likely to offend again because the offender did not respond to or undergo treatment programs while in prison.

Cloquet police held a community education and notification meeting about Couture in August when he was released from prison.
