Letter to the editor: Palin good choice, but not because of sex

Just when I was about to give up any hope for the coming presidential election came the good news: Sarah Palin is John McCain's choice for the vice presidency.

Some rejoice because he has chosen a woman.

This is foolish. Being male or female, white, black, green or purple is beside the point. It is the wisdom and the character that matters.

Many of the women in government are equally repulsive as many of the men. Palin is a good choice because of her principles and readiness to stand by them.

She is ready to stand up for families with a female mother and male father committed to accept children and give of themselves to raise them with strong moral values.

The members of the media attacking her and her pregnant daughter are the very ones who are constantly shoving temptation into the faces of our young people while promoting every kind of sexual deviation among their friends -- just so long as they abort any babies who occur and avoid any diseases except moral disease.

They oppose and ridicule chastity programs while pushing dependence on the pill in place of virtue and discipline. Fortunately many young people who might even slip occasionally are resisting such advice. They struggle against these messages for promiscuity.
