Last minute write-in candidates had little effect on the outcome of the county board.

Only in the 6th District where two write-in candidates were vying for a seat no one was running in did they muster support. Voters decided Terry Hart should serve on the board for the next two years. He defeated Steven Baker by two votes.

Former county board member Pat Ryan defeated incumbent Dean Miller.

Challenged incumbents Carol Johnson in the 26th, Lew Martin in the 8th and James "J.J." O'Brien in the 14th succeeded in holding on to their seats. Results in contests in the 4th and 28th Districts were still out, in part tied up by late returns in the city's 9th voting district.
