Motorists can expect a lane closure Tuesday in the Duluth tunnels on Interstate 35 southbound.

The right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. for electrical work, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

MnDOT road work has been identified as a critical service in Gov. Tim Walz’s stay-at-home executive order. Crews will maintain social distancing practices while working to prevent further spread of COVID-19, the release said.

MnDOT reminds motorists to slow down when approaching work zones and to expect delays, especially during peak travel times. Fines for a violation in a work zone are $300.
