Lake Country Power, the rural electric cooperative that serves much of Northeastern Minnesota outside of cities, has three new members on its board of directors.
Nearly 400 people attended the co-op's annual meeting Wednesday in Embarrass. The meeting included the release of results of an election for directors in three districts.
District 8: Danny G. Smith of Tamarack tallied 468 votes to top incumbent Jim Huhta of Cromwell, 372. Lake Country Power provides services to nearly 43,000 members in eight counties and has offices in Grand Rapids, Kettle River and Mountain Iron.
