Bill Kron, county commissioner, will seek re-election to the Third District which includes Western Duluth from Lincoln Park to Morgan Park, Bayview Heights, Piedmont Heights and part of Hermantown.
He initiated the St. Louis County's first economic development policy, is chair of the county's economic development committee and president of the Duluth Seaway Port Authority Board.
Kron is a U.S. veteran, University of Minnesota Duluth graduate, former steelworker, teacher and small business operator.
Kron said, "I feel I am entering my 'finest hour' in public service. Jobs, public safety and expansion of our tax base will continue to be high priorities."
