A Kettle River man accused of beating a man he found in bed with his wife has accepted a plea deal.
Kailo Alton Aho, 33, pleaded guilty last week to a reduced count of terroristic threats. Other charges were dismissed, including possession of a pistol without a permit, reckless handling of a firearm, driving while impaired and misdemeanor assault.
Under the agreement, Aho, who has no criminal history, will receive a one-year suspended prison sentence and three years supervised probation, according to Assistant Carlton County Attorney Michael Boese.
The alleged assault took place on Nov. 8 after Aho returned home from deer hunting and went to a neighbor's residence on County Road 129 looking for his wife.
When no one answered the door, Aho reportedly entered the home and found his wife and the man in bed. Aho began yelling and assaulting the man, causing injury to his face and head, and then left the residence, court documents said.

Aho reportedly returned a short while later with his father, Milton Duane Aho, and a loaded 9mm pistol. Both allegedly made threats and at one point Milton Aho held the gun with both hands and pointed it at the victim as Kailo Aho assaulted him.
Afterward, the victim's face showed bruises and cuts and his right eye was black and blue and nearly swollen shut. Three or four shots were fired outside the house as well, but no one was shot, the complaint stated.
Milton Aho, 60, of Barnum, has been charged with felony terroristic threats, felony endangering safety by discharging a firearm, possession of a pistol without a permit, misdemeanor assault and pointing a gun at a person. His case is ongoing.
