A man drowned Saturday afternoon after his kayak capsized on Sugar Lake north of Remer, the Cass County Sheriff's Office reported today.
Authorities responded to the lake shortly after 4 p.m. The victim, Stephen Chudzik, 50, of St. Paul, was transported to the Grand Rapids hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
