A Duluth police K-9 helped apprehend a would-be burglar inside the city's Goodwill Industries building early Tuesday, authorities said.
Police responded to a security alarm at the store, 700 Garfield Ave., just after 2 a.m. After setting up a perimeter, officer Kevin Tomlin and K-9 Kobra were called in for assistance.
While searching the building's storage area, Kobra alerted his handler to a 10-foot-tall stack of clothes, where the suspect was found hiding under a sleeping bag, the Northland K9 Foundation reported in a Facebook post. Authorities said the 50-year-old male had a pillowcase full of merchandise gathered from the store.
The suspect was booked into the St. Louis County Jail on a preliminary charge of third-degree burglary.
