It may be the last week of June, but temperatures still dropped into the 30s in parts of the Northland on Thursday morning.
A weather station near Eagle Mountain in Cook County reported a low of 35 degrees, with 36 at Silver Bay and 37 at Grand Portage and the Grand Marais airport, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth. Ashland and Embarrass reported lows of 38 degrees.
The Duluth airport's Thursday morning low was 48 degrees.
Expect skies to become partly sunny across the Northland on Thursday, with high temperatures reaching the 70s in most areas. Conditions will be cooler along the Lake Superior shore, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
