Iron Range road closed after culvert failure

A portion of Town Line Road starting at U.S. Highway 53 east of Forbes has been closed because of culvert failure, the St. Louis County Public Works Department announced.
The road, also known as UT 9132, is closed for a little less than a mile extending to just past South Fire Trail, the agency announced.
The closure is expected to last several weeks while necessary permits are acquired and materials ordered to complete repairs before winter.
Staff noticed “abnormalities” during a routine inspection, according to the county’s news release. Heavy rain and high water levels in recent weeks were blamed for the problem.
The recommended detour is to use County State Aid Highway 16 (Wilson Road) and County Road 389 (Clyde Road).
