Investigation of Proctor teacher wrapping up

The investigation into a report of alleged sexual misconduct by a Proctor teacher will be closed within a few days, according to Thomson Township Police Chief Tom Foldesi.

Kyle Neumann, a 42-year-old Proctor math teacher, was found dead in a rural area north of Duluth Saturday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Proctor police had been investigating a complaint against him at Proctor High School last week, and had determined that the alleged incident didn't occur within Proctor's jurisdiction, Chief Walter Wobig said Monday.

Neumann was reported missing by his wife, Gretchen Neumann, last Wednesday.

The sexual misconduct investigation was turned over to Foldesi, who said today he was combining the alleged sexual misconduct and apparent suicide cases and would close it out and submit it to the Carlton County attorney's office within the next few days.
