Chip Cravaack, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Minnesota's Eighth District, picked up an endorsement today from Independence Party candidate Tim Olson.
Olson is apparently dropping out of the Eighth District race and is endorsing Cravaack against longtime DFL incumbent Jim Oberstar.
The Cravaack campaign also announced support from Ely's Paul Starkovich, who will lead the "Democrats for Chip" coalition for the Cravaack campaign.
Cravaack said support from Olson and Starkovich will help him build a coalition to beat Oberstar, who has garnered between 59 and 100 percent of the vote since first elected to the post in 1974.
