Five homes along Minnesota Highway 61 in Cook County were evacuated for a time Sunday after a propane tanker tipped over.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the semi pulling the tank trailer locked its brakes when a vehicle in front of it slowed to make a left-hand turn. The rig tipped over, with the tank in the ditch and the semi partially on the roadway. The semi driver, David M. Visksna, 52, of Willow River, suffered minor injures.

The accident happened around 4:40 p.m. The road was icy at the time, the State Patrol said.
