A home was a complete loss 6 miles south of Orr after an overnight fire Thursday. Occupants evacuated safely and called 911.
Deputies and firefighters found “the house was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived on the scene,” at 3231 U.S. Highway 53 in Willow Valley Township, shortly after 2 a.m., said a St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Occupants were uninjured, but not identified in the news release. They called 911 to report heavy smoke inside of the residence.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. The Orr, Cook Greaney-Rausch-Silverdale and Bois Forte fire departments responded to the fire, along with Orr Ambulance and the American Red Cross, said the Sheriff’s Office news release.
Early Thursday morning, a scanner call reported new flames at the scene of the fire, which was originally cleared at 4:30 a.m.
