'History in a Pint' starts Tuesday

Veterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, announces the start of its new local history lecture series, "History in a Pint".

The first lecture starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Carmody's Irish Pub at 308 East Superior St. in Duluth.

This first of six lectures will be given by Joe Gomer, who was a member of the famous Tuskegee Airmen during WWII and Congressional Gold Medal Recipient.

The Tuskegee Airmen is the popular name of a group of African American pilots and ground crew who served with distinction during World War II as the 332nd Fighter Group of the US Army Air Corps.

The lecture should last approximately 30 to 45 minutes and will be followed by a Q-and-A session with the audience.
