One person was killed this morning in a car-semitrailer collision in Solon Springs.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, a passenger car eastbound on County Highway A was struck by the northbound semi as the car was crossing U.S. Highway 53.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver suffered minor injuries. Authorities are withholding the name of the car driver until Monday morning so the family can be notified.
The accident happened about 10:30 a.m.
