More than 21,000 customers were without power on Saturday afternoon as high gusts of wind pummeled the Twin Cities.
The National Weather Service reported gusts of up to 64 mph and issued a high wind warning for much of the Twin Cities metro area for part of the day Saturday.

Metro Transit cancelled many outdoor Saturday-afternoon festivities that it had planned for the launch of the Green Line, the light rail that connects the downtown of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Flights out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport were grounded "for a matter of minutes, not hours" as a result of the winds, spokesman Pat Hogan said.

Gusts overturned several boats in Lake Minnetonka on Saturday morning, but the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office had no reports of injuries or serious damage.
