A Hibbing Public Schools teacher accused of sending explicit images to underage students is scheduled to appear in court.
Jordan Michael Kochevar, 27, has been charged with four counts of felony distribution of material that relates/describes sexual conduct to a child via electronic communications, each of which carries a maximum sentence of three years and/or a $5,000 fine.
According to the Hibbing Police Department, Kochevar sent multiple explicit photographs and videos via Snapchat to children ranging in age from 10-15. According to court documents, Kochevar told police he was intoxicated the day he sent the messages.
Kochevar is employed as a fifth grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Hibbing, but has been placed on administrative leave.
His first appearance has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. July 9 in State District Court in Hibbing.
