A 67-year-old Hibbing man died Saturday in a single-vehicle crash north of Chisholm.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reported that Robert Clayton Swanger was traveling on County Highway 5 in French Township, about 10 miles northwest of Chisholm, just after 11 a.m. Saturday when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
Swanger, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle and who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi in Hibbing, where he died from his injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Other agencies at the scene included the Hibbing Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, French First Responders, Chisholm Ambulance and Hibbing Ambulance.
