The National Weather Service reports that 6.18 inches of rain fell at International Falls from July 1-5. That breaks the old five-day record of 6.02 inches, set from Aug. 26-30, 1942. Weather records at International Falls go back to 1897.

This month's total includes 3.04 inches of rain on July 1.

The Weather Service also reports that July 2010 already is the 11th wettest July on record for the city. July 1966 holds the record for International Falls, with 9.52 inches of rain.
