A blood drive next week is also a reunion for an "Extreme Makeover" from three summers ago.
When Howie and Jessica Huber's South Range home was rebuilt for an episode of the ABC show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in 2009, they named Memorial Blood Centers as a favorite charity. A bloodmobile was set up alongside the work site, said Wendy Capetz, a spokeswoman for Memorial Blood Centers.
A yearly blood drive is held as a reunion for people involved in the makeover.
This year's drive will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Builders Commonwealth, 517 Garfield Ave. The design-and-build cooperative was a key player in the Huber project.
Another upcoming blood drive is from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Golden K Kiwanis Club, 615 12th St., Cloquet.
