Habitat for Humanity-Duluth held a dedication ceremony Friday for its newest Central Hillside home. The dedication was held at Washington Center's Multicultural Room, celebrating the home's completion, and offering thanks to God and seeking blessing for the family and their new home. The Kelly family will be on hand to greet visitors, as will Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Kay Vance, Habitat staff, and construction volunteers and sponsor representatives. Pastor Karen Schuter of Hillside United Methodist will preside over the services.

Sponsors and funding include the Aluminum Association's can recycling program, St. Mary's/Duluth Clinic, Dave Mattson's cross-country bicycling fund-raiser and Duluth's Secondary Technical Center students, who built the basement and outer structure. Additional building crews include St. Scholastica and UMD students, Habitat's own RV Care-a-Vanners, and volunteers from First United Methodist Church and Duluth's RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program).

Neighborhood Housing Services of Duluth also made a substantial contribution through a loan for additional building materials necessary to complete the project.

Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony. Neighbors and the public are welcome.
