Local residents, postal workers and their supporters will rally Sunday in Duluth in support of the U.S. Postal Service and against cuts in service.
It's part of a national effort to forestall cuts to the service, which has been besieged with budget problems.
The rally will take place at Lake Avenue and Superior Street from noon to 1:30 p.m. and is open for anyone to attend.
Supporters say plans to shrink the Postal Service and end Saturday service is "an attack on the future of this great institution, on the customers who need it and on the employees who support it."
