Four terms each on the Duluth City Council and School Board are set to expire.
Those intending to run for Duluth's City Council or School Board must file affidavits of their candidacy between June 1-15.
The seats opening on City Council include two at large seats, a 2nd District seat and a 4th District seat.
The terms expiring on the School Board include two at large seat as well as seats in the 1st and 4th districts.
City Council candidates must file with the city clerk in room 318 of City Hall, 411 W. First St.
Five people have announced they are running for the two at large seats on the City Council as of Wednesday. Two people have announced campaigns for the 2nd District seat.
Renee Van Nett, 4th District Councilor and current council president, will run for reelection. Van Nett is the only person who has announced a campaign for the 4th District as of Wednesday.
School Board candidates must file with the clerk of the school board in room 215 of the Central Administration Building, 215 N. First Ave. E.
No one has yet formally announced their plans to run for School Board.
The primary election will take place Aug. 10 while the general election is set for Nov. 2.
