The Duluth City Council unanimously approved a resolution Monday night formalizing a tentative agreement between city administration and International Association of Fire Fighters Local 101.
While the one-year contract includes no general wage increase, firefighters will receive one additional personal leave shift. Members may be compensated for unused personal leave at a straight hourly rate, but not at an overtime scale. The agreement also includes minor changes to the uniform policy, procedures for fitness reimbursement and use of employee and family sick leave.
A tentative agreement was approved Dec. 17, 2020, and IAFF Local 101 members voted to ratify it Feb. 5, 2021. It will retroactively take effect Jan. 1, 2022.
